Costco 10KG All Purpose Flour
A letter to our valued customers:
To our Valued Customers,
As a follow-up to a review initiated in May by the BC Center for Disease Control and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Rogers Foods Ltd. is voluntarily recalling Rogers 10 kg All Purpose Flour dated “MFD 17 JAN 19 C”. (See packaging photos with lot code below) This lot code was sold exclusively at Costco Wholesale British Columbia.
Costco and Rogers have withdrawn the product from store shelves over recent weeks. However, some consumers may still have the product in their homes. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
The product is being recalled due to a possible E. coli O121 contamination. It is not safe to taste or eat uncooked flour or raw dough or batter.
Rogers Foods is committed to producing safe, quality flours for our consumers. We are cooperating fully with the CDC and CFIA to conduct this voluntary action. Additional lab testing to determine any link between Rogers All Purpose Flour and reported illnesses is underway. We must emphasize that flour is a raw agricultural product and must be thoroughly baked or cooked before eating. Hands and surfaces coming into contact with flour should be washed thoroughly.
