Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Cream butter and sugar together. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and stir into creamed mixture. Add the egg and vanilla and beat well. Combine ROGERS NO ADDITIVE/ALL PURPOSE FLOUR and oats and add to the mixture; stir in chocolate chips and mix well.

Drop from a teaspoon onto greased baking sheets, about 2" (5 cm) apart, flatten with a fork, and bake for 12 - 15 minutes.

YIELD:
45 - 50 cookies.
