Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies "To Die For"

. . . definitely up there with the best.

1 cupbutter or margarine250 mL
1 cupbrown sugar250 mL
1 tsp.baking soda5 mL
2 tsp.hot water10 mL
1 egg1
1 tsp.vanilla5 mL
1 cupROGERS NO ADDITIVE / ALL PURPOSE FLOUR250 mL
3 cupsROGERS LARGE FLAKE OATS750 mL
1 cupchocolate chips250 mL

 

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Cream butter and sugar together. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and stir into creamed mixture. Add the egg and vanilla and beat well. Combine ROGERS NO ADDITIVE/ALL PURPOSE FLOUR and oats and add to the mixture; stir in chocolate chips and mix well.

Drop from a teaspoon onto greased baking sheets, about 2" (5 cm) apart, flatten with a fork, and bake for 12 - 15 minutes.

 

YIELD: 45 - 50 cookies.
