Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Cream butter and brown sugar together; stir in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, oats and gum drops. Mix well. Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and stir well.

Drop from a teaspoon onto greased baking sheets. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes.

YIELD:
30 - 35 cookies.
