Ingredients

1 cup ROGERS OAT BRAN

1 cup buttermilk*

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 egg

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1 cup ROGERS DARK RYE FLOUR

2/3 cup sugar

1/4 cup cocoa

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 cup chocolate chips

*To substitute for 1 cup buttermilk, use 1 cup milk and 1 tbsp. lemon juice

Preheat oven to 375ºF (190ºC). Prepare 9″ x 5″ loaf pan.

Mix together oat bran and buttermilk, let stand.

Combine vegetable oil, egg and vanilla and add to bran mixture.

Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder & salt.

Add dry ingredients to bran mixture and stir just until blended. Add chocolate chips.

Pour into loaf pan and bake 50-60 minutes or until cake tester inserted comes out clean.
