#TryItWithRogers: Oh She Glows Favourite Homemade Granola

At Rogers, we love granola. With a passion. And when we have the time to make our own (our Five Grain Granola is perfect for on-the-go), we like to experiment. When it comes to health conscious recipes, one of our main go-to’s is Angela Liddon from Oh She Glows. Her recipes are creative, inventive, healthy and most of all–delicious. This month, we chose her Favourite Homemade Granola recipe to #TryItWithRogers and boy oh boy, did it ever turn out.

For this recipe we used our Rogers Large Flake Oats.

First, in a medium saucepan over medium heat you add all the wet ingredients like agave nectar, brown rice syrup, brown sugar, coconut oil & apple sauce.

Bring all that goodness to boil and then let simmer for a 5-10 minutes.

Now for the good stuff. We used 2.5 cups of our Rogers Large Flake Oats.

And added the rest of the dry ingredients like coconut, dried cranberries, chopped walnuts & almonds, sesame seeds and ground flax.

Now its time to add the wet ingredients to the dry.

And stir those all together.

And pile it onto a parchment lined baking sheet.

Then spread it out into an even layer and bake at 300F for 45 minutes. Giving is a good toss about every 15 minutes.

And there you go. Oh She Glows Favourite Homemade Granola, which is now probably our favourite and we’re guessing will be yours too.




1 cup raw almonds, roughly chopped

1/2 cup raw walnuts, roughly chopped

1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds

1/2 cup raw sesame seeds

2 tbsp ground flax

2 tbsp sweetened coconut flakes

1 tsp ground cinnamon

Pinch of ground nutmeg

3/4 tsp kosher salt


4 tbsp brown rice syrup

1 tbsp agave nectar

1 tbsp coconut oil

2 tbsp applesauce, unsweetened

2 tbsp peanut butter

1/3 cup packed brown sugar


1/3 cup dried cranberries

1/3 cup raisins

handful pepita seeds (pumpkin seeds)



Preheat oven to 300F. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the wet ingredients. Stir well. Bring to a boil and then simmer on low for 5-10 minutes, stirring frequently.

In a very large mixing bowl, Mix together the dry ingredients.

Add the wet mixture (while still warm!) over top the dry mixture and stir well. It will be very thick and hard to stir, but keep at it until everything is thoroughly combined.

Spread onto a pan lined with parchment paper or a non-stick mat and bake in the oven for 45 minutes at 300F. Remove the pan from the oven every 15 minutes and give the granola a good stir to ensure even baking.

Allow to cool for 20-25 minutes on the pan before serving. The granola will stiffen up as it cools. Makes about 6 cups and will keep for 1 month in the fridge in an air-tight container.
