#TryItWithRogers – Raspberry Acai Oatmeal

#TryItWithRogers – Raspberry Acai Oatmeal

May 8, 2017

Oatmeal is one of those dishes you can eat every day, but still never get tired of. There are just so many options when it comes to how you make it and what toppings you choose to dress it up with. It’s such a versatile meal–and although we love it plain and simple with a little bit of honey or maple syrup, it’s always nice to jazz it up every now and then. We came across this recipe by Veronika from The Healthful Ideas and just had to #TryItWithRogers.

For this recipe we used Rogers Porridge Oats & Ancient Grains

First, you start off with some almond milk.

And add fresh (or frozen in our case) rasperries.

And shredded apples.

Bring ingredients in pot to a boil.

Add Rogers Porridge Oats & Ancient Grains and let simmer for about 10 minutes.

Once the oats are nice and creamy, remove from heat. Look at that color!

Add in acai powder.

And a wee bit of maple syrup. We are Canadian after all.

Spoon into bowls.

And top with your favourite fixings. We did goji berries, shredded coconut and almond butter.

Last but not least, enjoy!

2 cups almond milk

2 cups fresh or frozen raspberries

2 small apples, shredded

1 cup Rogers Porridge Oats & Ancient Grains

½ tsp vanilla powder (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)

1-2 tbsp maple syrup

4 tsp acai

optional toppings: almond butter, goji berries, nuts, seeds, coconut yogurt, berries, whatever you want!

Add the almond milk, raspberries, and shredded apples into a medium saucepan and bring to boil.

Add the oats, mix well and lower the heat to low-medium. Stir in the vanilla and cook until soft and creamy (about 10 minutes). Add more milk if needed.

Turn off the heat and add the maple syrup and acai.

Serve with more berries, almond butter, or other toppings.
