Place sliced fruit into bottom of 8 x 8” pan; sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine sugar with 1 tsp. of flour and sprinkle on fruit.
Cream together first 4 ingredients.
Combine dry ingredients, adding half to creamed ingredients. Mix in.
Add milk and remaining dry ingredients. Mix.
Spoon over peaches and spread evenly.
Bake at 350°F for an hour. Top will be golden brown and cake tester will come out clean.
Yield: 9-10 servings.
