Made with Rogers Foods Porridge Oats & Healthy Grains, blueberries and apples, this yummy autumn crisp is a perfect dessert for all your fall comfort meals. At Rogers Foods we love using our Porridge Oats in desserts! Each serving of this fruit forward crisp has 5 grams of fibre and 4 grams of protein, plus 20% of your DV for vitamin C. Want more protein in your dessert? Enjoy it with a scoop of plain Greek yogurt.
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Lightly grease a 9″ x 9″ (2 L) baking dish.
TOPPING
In a medium bowl combine Rogers Porridge Oats & Healthy Grains, Rogers All Purpose Flour, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon. Cut in butter until coarse crumbs form. Stir in pecans and set aside.
FILLING
In a large bowl stir blueberries and apples together. In a small bowl, combine sugar, flour and cinnamon. Sprinkle sugar mixture over fruit; stir to coat fruit.
Place fruit filling into prepared 9” x 9” (2 L) baking dish. Cover the fruit filling evenly with the Rogers Porridge Oats & Healthy Grains topping. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden. Remove pan from oven, cool for 5 minutes before cutting into 8 servings.
